Construction Process

Step 1: Permits

Our construction office will obtain all necessary permits. It will take a few days to schedule your pool for excavation after building permit has been issued. The permit process also requires a survey of the residence.

Step 2: Excavation

Our construction scheduler will call or email you and set up an excavation date; it is imperative that a responsible party be present to approve the layout of pool before the excavation begins. This process typically begins between 7:30AM - 8AM (although times may vary) on established dig date.

Step 3: Steel

The steel crew will install steel reinforcing bars in your pool after excavation. The steel reinforcing bars used in our pool construction process were designed to resist the shifting soil conditions of this area and are one of the most important structural features of a LIV LUX pool.

Step 4: Gunite

Our Gunite crew will form and shoot Gunite structure. At this point in the process, your pool will begin to come to life. The Gunite schedule changes daily due to weather.

Step 5: Plumbing

Our plumbing crew will install all circulating lines and equipment.

Step 6: Tile and Coping

Our crew will install the water-line tile around the pool and the coping on the edge of the pool.

Step 7: Grounding and Electrical Wiring

Grounding of the pool is required by National Electrical and Parish codes and must be inspected prior to pouring decking around the pool.

Step 8: Decking

The concrete will be poured for the deck and our tile crew will return to lay your selected tile or pavers.

Step 9: Plaster

When all electrical work, decking, gas line hook-up, major landscaping, and fence are completed, plaster will be scheduled. The pool cannot be plastered before the pool area is ready, as loose dirt may stain and damage the plaster surface.

Step 10: Filling Pool

The plaster crew will start filling the water into the pool. Once the filling has begun, DO NOT TURN OFF WATER until it has risen to the middle of the waterline tile. This is to prevent formation of a high-water mark on the plaster which will be extremely difficult to remove.

Step 11: Finished Work

When the pool is full of water, our finish crew will put the filter and other equipment into operation. In our contract we offer a package for 1 month of pool chemical set-up and maintenance to insure the life span of the plaster. It is highly recommended.

Step 12: Final Inspection

The Owner has to be home for the final inspection. The date will be coordinated through LIV LUX’s office.
